K. James spent more that 25 yrs “on the road” internationally as a Director of Photography and later as a post production supervisor.

Always carrying a guitar with him, he continued to write and perform between productions. His travels allowed him the honor of experiencing life across the planet in all of its richness and energy.

A lifelong observer of how visual images and music can work together always informs his musical compositions and now find its way into his music today with MJM UNLTD

An advertising career with agencies including Grey New York, Cunningham & Walsh, and Bozell & Jacobs, has given Ian an ear on how music can lift visual images. Throughout his time at these Agencies, Ian planned Media Campaigns for major Brands such as Ford Motors, Revlon, Lone Star and Dos Equis beers. In 1994, Ian moved to Vail Colorado. In addition to his passion for songwriting; skiing, hiking, and cycling adventures consume his life. Many of Ian’s lyrical inspirations come when actively pursuing these outdoor activities in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Music is an integral sustaining part of Ian’s life and he is proudly one of the original Founding Patrons of the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek, Colorado.
